Melissa moves into new territory

9 December 2010

Melissa Australia, the down-under arm of the iconic plastic shoe brand immortalised by such luminaries as Vivienne Westwood, has branched into kids' and men's shoes with the launch of the Mini Melissa and M Zero brands.

The brand, which recently launched a new Aussie website, has also joined forces with Melbourne label House of Baulch, a supplier of unique bags and jewellery. Not everything is rosy for the plastic pump purveyor though. Hot on the heels of the arrival of new style Amazonias (pictured left) in November Melissa also encountered some delivery problems with its summer collection Melissa Amazonista... now scheduled to arrive this week.

Brightening the atmosphere considerably however, the fourth edition of the brand's very own Plastic Magazine features Katy Perry as its new "face". Perry's appearance follows that of Agyness Deyn, Kate Moss and Dita Von Teese.

Made from eco friendly mono materials that can easily be disassembled and recycled, Melissa has followed an ecological fashion ethos for nearly thirty years with 100 per cent of materials are used in production used.
